The time has come again to ask you to please join us on our annual charitable journey!

You may know that every year local families participate in creating a one-of-a-kind, beautiful and important piece of art: a calendar the profits from which go entirely to a not-for-profit organization committed to bettering the lives of children and families in direct or indirect ways.
Last year, with your support we proudly raised $5,630 for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
This year, we hope to top that in our quest to raise funds for another worthy organization, Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation.
Who are they and what do they do for children? Imagine a family with young children and a parent who is fighting an advanced stage of cancer. Jack and Jill has a unique mission: for such families, they will provide an all-expenses-paid getaway to a location of the family’s choosing! For several magical and memorable days, they get to be a family having fun, away from the medical intrusiveness of battling this illness. Something so ordinary for most other families, yet so unique and precious. Something they are grateful for, for the rest of their lives. An experience that provides the young children with memories they will review and cherish as they grow, memories of joyful times with their parents, when they got to be the simply that: a family, together, enjoying life. Jack and Jill also provides them with cameras if needed, and a way to create a keepsake memory book free of charge.
This charity speaks to me on so many levels: the delighting in the present moment; the creation of visual reminders of the joy and closeness in our families. I feel strongly that their work is important and will help these young children remember the love their family shared, as the future unfolds.

They are available to be shipped or for pickup in NE Atlanta, or in Johns Creek at the Blue Dangles Boutique. For just $12.99 you get a beautiful piece of wall art featuring closeups of local children, and 100% of the profits go to Jack and Jill. The calendars would look great on display in a kid’s room, in their classroom, anywhere really.

These calendars are limited edition, once the original issues are sold, there will be no reprints. And we do hope to sell every single one of them!

2012 Calendars available for pre-order!

Great news, you can begin pre-ordering the 2012 Childhood Calendar now! They will be back from production late this month, and available for pick-up in NE Atlanta, or for shipping. Choose whichever options works best for you when ordering!

If you can help by providing a pick-up location in your store, please let me know (oana@shutterview.com) and we will be listing your business here. Also, there is a special discount for packs of 10, so you can take care of gifts for your family, friends and colleagues!

And, more great news: we will include a small cameo image of every participating child within the month pages!

Thanks, again, to everyone who has voted, I will compile the recent contributions and announce the top 10 shortly!

Your generosity is amazing and will make such a difference for the Jack and Jill families who will benefit from the funds we are raising. Thank you once again!

The design of the calendar is in progress and printing will complete later this month! We welcome any help with passing the word as well as distribution of the calendar through local businesses, primarily in the Atlanta area. Voting has begun for the 2012 Childhood Calendar, “Faces of Childhood”! As you know, this is an important stage of our fundraiser. Historically, we raise about a third of the funds through these votes, so it’s wonderful when you can vote generously and pass the word to your friends! To learn more about the charity which benefits from all of this year’s profits, please visit the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation’s website.

Note: As of Oct 5th midnight, voting has ended – THANK YOU for your generousity! Let’s get these calendars printed and distributed, to round up our fundraising!
